Primary Responsibilities:
The community organizer will primarily aid leaders in the public campaigns and projects of CALEB’s Economic Mobility and Education Task Forces. They will have responsibility for managing online organizing tools and social media accounts, as well as donor correspondence.

Other Duties:
• Weekly schedule of one-on-one meetings with CALEB leaders and community members
• Recruit and develop new leaders and partner organizations
• Research and information-sharing with membership
• Participate in and aid facilitation in SWAY community organizing workshops
• Travel to trainings out of town and on some evenings, weeknights and weekends, including Gamaliel 7-day National
Leadership Training and regional conventions
• Represent CALEB at various community events, meetings, and media events
• Accurate recording of work time and purpose
• Weekly supervisory meeting with Organizing Director

• Commitment to public campaign goals of CALEB Task Forces: Criminal Justice / Economic Mobility / Education
• Experience working in low-income urban communities
• Experience working with community groups around public or civic issues
• Willingness to work long and flexible hours
• Experience in meeting facilitation
• Excellent communication skills
• Social media account management experience
• Previous training by any of the various community organizing centers preferred
(e.g. Industrial Areas Foundation, Gamaliel Foundation, PICO, DART, Midwest Academy, etc.)
