On Tuesday, February 18th, CALEB held a public meeting to break down the housing crisis, explore real solutions, and give community members a chance to connect directly with city council candidates.
Two viable solutions were presented: investing public subsidy to support the development of a community land trust and local ordinances for housing reform. Tennessee state law preempts certain legislation that cities can enact, so inspiration was taken from methods that other cities have enacted housing regulation.
